The cheapest small desktop PC: The GMKtek Nucbox G3 N100
The $99/$199 Tiny PC that really packs a punch and outperforms the Raspberry Pi!
I bought this GMKtec nucbox G3 for $199 USD with 16GB RAM and 512GB M2 storage. A barebones version is also available for $99. Not only is it cheap, it's small, quiet and packs a lot more in. But is it any good!? This review tears down the machine showing the insides and outsides and what performance is like, I even run it through its paces on Geekbench!
There are a lot of these small 'NUC' box style machines on the market right now, and many are getting pretty performant, so how does this one stack up?!
I thought I’d do this short review and I’d also add this video to Substack and Patreon for free this time around, so you can get a glimpse into Al’s Geek Lab if you aren’t usually on those platforms. If you like my stuff, please consider signing up and supporting the YouTube channel! If you donate, all the funds go straight back into fund the videos (i.e. buying stuff like this tiny PC!).
NB: This video is not sponsored, I purchased the unit myself.
The scores for the Geekbench was 871 for single-core performance and 2428 for multi-core performance. The GPU score was 3216 (OpenCL performance). These tests were run in a standard Windows 11 environment.
